A staggering amount of the 33% of wasted food that ends up in our landfills is edible, while the number of food insecure families and individuals in the US and around the world continues to rise. Current events have seen a 22% increase in food costs and corporations, institutions and government agencies are turning towards food recovery as a solution. This session looks at edible food recovery efforts in metro Vancouver, food redistribution in Merced, and a US-based digital edible food donation platform.
