Waste generation is not slowing down – in fact single-use container sales continue to grow while recycling rates stagnate or decline nationwide. How can the industry shift to increase producer and consumer participation and stop disposal of recyclable material? This panel will discuss an upcoming report of US beverage container recycling trends, importance of public policy mandates, and extended producer responsibility to reflect shifting consumer demands. Also to consider are emerging recycling technologies, advocacy for consumer convenience in recycling through incentivization, increased access, and improved customer experience. Join the conversation about bottle bills, corporate responsibility, and innovative recycling models as potential solutions to push the industry into a new era.
