Producer responsibility advances best when one company’s sustainability goals and interests result in collaboration with suppliers and customers, to then provoke additional actions and initiatives which protect the environment (our natural capital), and often save money as well.
Environmental initiatives within one company and sector partnerships that demonstrate financial savings and reduced impacts tend to ripple outward to benefit other sustainability-minded business partners, thus helping to smash barriers to producer responsibility.
