Deciding for Circularity, Driving for Change
Times are listed in Pacific Standard Time
To achieve zero waste, products must be designed with their end-of-use in mind to support a transition to circularity. This panel will discuss how designers are embracing sustainability along with function and aesthetics to create products with a mindful after-life. Decision-making for circularity requires a different decision-making logic than linear systems. The Circular Decision-Making Tree has been developed with an international perspective to create a new framework for decision-makers. The transition to circularity requires collaboration across the entire value chain. The Mattress Recycling Council is spurring circular principles across the mattress value chain by bringing lessons learned from recyclers to design, manufacturing, new materials, and recycling market development.
