Speaker: Moderator: Mark Patti • Panelists: Justin Stockdale, Dr. Calvin Lakha

2021, December 9 • 2:30pm – 3:00pm — Track E

How can access to hard-to-recycle materials management options help communities solve the problem of illegal dumping while increasing reuse and recycling of durable goods? While product stewardship is one approach to addressing this challenging and complex discards stream, establishing local infrastructure that provides an affordable option to dumping is another. The speakers in this session will share new research on the problem of illegal dumping and how a Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (ChaRM) might just be the solution.
