St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County is Lane County’s largest nonprofit human services organization, serving more than 84,000 individuals annually through its robust homelessness, emergency services, and affordable housing programs. The dynamic nonprofit generates revenue through a small empire of reuse, recycling and upcycling businesses that together diverted 44.1 million pounds of materials from the waste stream in 2018. The agency administers the Cascade Alliance, a national network of nonprofits in waste-based businesses that create jobs for those with barriers and contribute to a healthier environment by tapping into rich and varied opportunities for materials diversion.
