Jordan Figueiredo

Jordan Figueiredo is a Zero Waste Specialist II and has been at Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) for over 12 years.

As the School Programs lead, Jordan works on outreach, donations, and improving school recycling and organics programs and diversion. Jordan also works on school presentations, field trips, assemblies, a student scholarship program, and custodian recognition event. Jordan serves as the program lead for Earth Day Clean-Up, Green Hearts Volunteer Program, Event Greening, and Zero Waste Week, and manages CVSan’s multi-family programs. Jordan assists with CVSan’s Zero Waste Strategic Plan development and updates, other diversion and discards management programs, events, grants, and develops educational and social marketing programs and materials.

Jordan is a past Board Member of the Municipal Managers Association of Northern California and Northern California Recycling Association. He co-chaired the first Zero Food Waste Forum in 2014 and managed the Feeding the 5000 Oakland in 2014. Jordan received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Public Administration, both from California State University, East Bay.
