Jenna Arkin is the forceful innovator behind ECOS®’s safer and greener cleaning products. With a degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a graduate degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Technology, Jenna brings a unique combination of scientific expertise and creative passion to her work.
As the Chief Innovation Officer at ECOS®, Jenna is leading the charge in developing safer chemical formulations and bold packaging designs that are changing the game in the cleaning industry. Her disruptive mindset and sharp eye for trends have inspired out-of-the-box thinking, connecting seemingly disparate concepts to move the industry towards a more sustainable future.
Jenna is a futurist who is not afraid to take risks. She holds six U.S. patents for her innovations in green chemistry and packaging design and was recognized as one of Progressive Grocer’s GenNext Award winners in 2018 for industry standouts under the age of 40. In 2022, Jenna led ECOS® to become one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies, cementing her status as a thought leader and innovator.
Jenna is committed to making a positive impact on the world and is an advocate for ingredient transparency and toxic substance reform at both the state and federal levels. She is a key collaborator of the U.S. EPA’s Safer Choice program, which certifies products made with safer chemical ingredients without sacrificing quality or performance. She is also a member of the American Chemical Society and serves as an advocate for clean chemistry with the American Sustainable Business Network. In addition, she is an advisor on the U.S. EPA’s Small Business Advocacy Review Panel for the Toxic Substance Control Act reform.
Jenna is a natural leader and collaborator who inspires others to think outside the box and embrace new challenges. She has led task teams to help solve big challenges like eliminating plastic use, reducing carbon, and moving towards more circularity. Her outreach work also extends to younger scholars; Jenna leads the ECOScience program, working with multiple children’s museums to bring hands-on green science education to thousands of elementary school children each year.
At ECOS®, she leads the Futurists group, which is charged with researching and understanding emerging technologies such as machine learning, virtual and augmented reality, and the metaverse to prepare for the new digital world.
Jenna is an inspiration to those around her, driving progress and innovation in the cleaning industry with her passion, dedication, and boundless creativity. Her impact on the industry will be felt for years to come, as she continues to push the boundaries of what is possible and inspire others to do the same.
She is currently enrolled in the Executive MBA program at the Chapman University Argyros School of Business, with an expected completion date in 2024.
