Brenda has 35 years of experience at the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR) providing expertise in recycling, composting and other resource conservation practices and policy to government agencies, industry, and public interest and community-based organizations. She has researched and co-authored more than a dozen reports on recycling and composting. Brenda’s current focus is advancing food waste reduction as a key short-term climate solution to draw down carbon from the atmosphere and sequester in soil via compost, and doing so in way that builds local enterprises and community equity.
