Keynote 1 • Building Zero Waste Systems in Major Sports and Entertainment Venues

Intuit Dome opened in August 2024 with ambitious climate goals, including achieving and maintaining zero waste within the first four years of operation. Two years in, they have achieved a TRUE for Events Silver certification and are just a few percentage points away from reaching 90% diversion for day-to-day operations. This keynote will explore the process of building and maintaining a holistic zero-waste system from the ground up, highlighting the strategies and partnerships that make the work possible as well as the challenges and opportunities venue operators must navigate when working toward zero waste.
