Susan Long is the sustainability initiative manager for REI Co-op. She works to support a life outdoors for members by ensuring REI’s operations create a positive impact on the communities in which REI operates and recreates. Her work focuses on Zero Waste, energy efficiency and renewables, sustainable building practices, and stakeholder engagement. She joined REI in 2016, and has worked in the sustainability field for over 20 years, previously with Starbucks. She #OptOutside(s) as often as possible to mountain bike or ski with her husband and their dog, Hazel, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
