About Hayden

Hayden Dansky (they/them) is a cofounder and co-Director of Boulder Food Rescue, a community-led nonprofit that works to create a more just and less wasteful food system by using food as a mechanism to meet the survival needs of people, interrupting the systems that create that need, and leveraging participatory systems of leadership and collective action. They are also a founder of Food Rescue Alliance, a national resource sharing and social impact network of food rescues organizing to advance health equity and participatory grassroots systems of food access. They have over fifteen years of experience creating structures to democratize leadership, share power and decision making, and enhance equity and trauma-informed practices within organizational structures. They are a Co-Author of several reports on participation systems for nonprofits, barriers to food access, and creating programs that honor the dignity and inherent creativity of communities.
