Sarah Hofman-Graham serve as a Management Analyst for Washington, D.C.’s Department of Public Works’ Office of Waste Diversion. The Office of Waste Diversion is responsible for the design and implementation of waste reduction and diversion policies and programs in order to achieve the District’s ambitious goal to divert 80% of the City’s municipal solid waste away from landfills and incineration through reduction, reuse, composting and recycling. Sarah is one of the project leads on the District’s strategic Zero Waste DC Plan and works across District agencies on reuse and reduction programs and source separation policies.
Sarah graduated from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan with degrees in Environmental Studies and Economics and the George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. with a Masters of Public Administration and Environmental Policy.
