Sal Evola

Sal is the main day-to-day point of contact and manager for all of the jurisdictions that we serve. He is also responsible for all aspects of environmental & regulatory permitting for all projects including the Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery Park and ensures that Mt. Diablo can meet all of its current and future contractual obligations for the communities served by MDRR.

Sal’s responsibilities for Mt Diablo Resource Recovery have included: maintaining all governmental and regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, franchise management and procurement, interfacing and maintaining relationships with all elected officials and government staff members at the local, state, and federal levels.

Prior to joining the solid waste industry in 2010, Sal has been involved in hundreds of projects and entitlements throughout Northern California and Nevada with responsibilities including land acquisition, forward planning, environmental & regulatory permitting, CEQA / NEPA, land development, governmental affairs & community/stakeholder engagement.

Sal is a former Mayor / Council Member of the City of Pittsburg where he held elected office for over a decade. Sal has served on various local, regional, and state-appointed committees as well as on the board of directors of several organizations and nonprofits.
