Keynote 1 • Restoring the Sacred Loop: indigenous Values as the Blueprint for a Zero Waste Future
Zero waste isn’t new — it’s ancestral. Join TSWAN’s Bobbi Anne Barnowsky for a keynote on the Indigenous values already blueprinting sustainability’s future.
When: October 22, 2026 • 8:15 am
What if zero waste isn’t a new idea we’re building, but an old relationship we’re restoring? In this keynote, Bobbi Anne Barnowsky, Executive Director of the Tribal Solid Waste Advisory Network (TSWAN), serving 40+ tribes across the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, moves beyond bins and diversion rates to explore the deeper roots of this movement. She will connect Honorable Harvest, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, and the principle of Seven Generations to show how Indigenous nations engineered circular, regenerative systems millennia before “circular economy” became a term. This is a talk about cultural renewal, sovereignty, and reciprocity, and an invitation to rethink what zero waste is really for.
