National Recycling Coalition (NRC) Update: Corona Virus and the National Zero Waste Conference

On March 9 event organizers were notified by UC Berkeley that “all campus-sponsored events with plans for more than 150 attendees will be canceled or postponed” to help slow the spread of COVID-19. This new policy applies to the National Zero Waste Conference.

As a result, in line with the University’s announcement and in the interest of public health, NRC is suspending the National Zero Waste Conference scheduled for March 18 & 19, 2020.

The National Recycling Coalition Board is now actively planning alternative arrangements, including alternative dates and coordinating online presentations.

In response to the suspension of the National Zero Waste Conference, NRC is working to provide some of the content of the Conference online to provide support for you as you strive for Zero Waste. Details and registration links for free online training opportunities are provided below. Many of the speakers were going to speak at the NRC National Zero Waste Conference, addressing topics and involving networks that were going to be addressed at the NRC National Zero Waste Conference.
