Michelle grew up in Flagstaff Arizona where she fell in love with the natural world and got her undergraduate degree in Geology. While she was studying at Northern Arizona University she worked as a Peer Teaching assistant, hiking guide, preschool teacher, pizza slinger, and was the recipient of the NASA Space Grant internship. Her love of adventuring and the outdoors led her to Missoula Montana, where she completed 3 terms of Montana Conservation Corps before landing at Home ReSource. Here she learned about how waste and our linear materials economy contributes to climate change while negatively impacting people and the planet. She is excited to work alongside students and community members to create a more sustainable place to live where everyone can thrive. When she isn’t educating, you can find her tinkering with reused materials, or watching mergansers by the river with her partner, two dogs, and a Big Dipper ice cream cone.
