Michael Savarie is the Sustainability Program Manager for Circularity and Textiles at UL Solutions, where he manages the Environmental Claim Validation (ECV) and the Textile Exchange programs. Michael has a background in sustainability in the apparel and textile industry, helping to launch an apparel and material innovation brand successfully and later developing and leading the sustainability strategy for a textile manufacturer and dying company. Having spoken on stages across North America, his talks have focused on sustainable materials, apparel and textile sustainability, product innovation, and validating sustainability claims.
Michael holds a BBA. in Sustainable Business Operations, an MSc in Sustainable Design from Thomas Jefferson University, and is pursuing a MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology in the fall. His graduate thesis research focused on the sustainability of the Apparel and Textile industry and the sustainability properties of hemp. Michael is an accredited LEED Green Associate, TRUE Zero Waste Advisor, and a Circular Economy Designer.
