Joseph Button has been the Sustainability Director at Straus Family Creamery since 2016. In his role, Joseph implements best-in-industry practices related to environmental sustainability throughout the mission-driven company’s operations, including achieving TRUE Zero-Waste Gold certification in 2019. Joseph also works to ensure the economic and environmental sustainability of family organic dairy farms in Marin and Sonoma Counties in Northern California by driving initiatives that improve the farms ecological health and the farmers’ financial success.
Joseph has worked in the field of sustainability for more than ten years. He has graduate degrees in business and international environmental policy. He is a firm believer that a thriving and successful business must manage to the triple bottom line and that businesses hold primary responsibility for social and environmental leadership and innovation in society.
