Gary Liss & Associates

Gary Liss has over 46 years of experience in solid waste and recycling. Mr. Liss is President of his own consulting firm, Gary Liss & Associates. Mr. Liss is a leading advocate of Zero Waste and has helped more communities develop Zero Waste plans than anyone else in the U.S. He also has helped major businesses and colleges develop Zero Waste Plans and helped USEPA develop a Zero Waste community planning tool.

Mr. Liss helped develop the TRUE Zero Waste program for the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). He is Chair of ZWIA’s Zero Waste Certification Committee. For Zero Waste USA, he is Vice President responsible for developing their education and training programs. Mr. Liss is a Founder, past President, and life-time Honorary Board Member of the National Recycling Coalition (NRC).

Mr. Liss served on the Loomis Town Council from 2008-2012 and was Mayor in 2010. He has a Master of Public Administration, Rutgers University and a Bachelor in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering major), Tufts University.
