Freddy has been an advisor, and organizer with Zero Waste Youth USA since 2014. The youth organization is a volunteer-run organization based out of the San Francisco Bay Area that connects students and young professionals passionate for the Zero Waste and climate action movements.
Freddy and ZWY organizing members have produced 9 annual conferences dubbed the Zero Waste Youth Convergence, creating a space for students and young professionals to learn and share their experiences in Zero Waste. The youth organization has also hosted career fairs, movie screenings, Zero Waste picnics, and beach cleanups. Today Zero Waste Youth alumni are government employees, haulers, consultants and even environmental lobbyists.
Freddy works for the San Francisco Department of the Environment as the Residential Zero Waste Specialist.
