Zero Waste Europe (ZWE) is the European network of communities, local leaders, experts and change agents working towards the same vision: phasing out waste from our society. We operate as a knowledge network and as an advocacy group to empower communities to redesign their relationship with resources in line with a circular economy.
As Zero Waste Europe’s Associate Director, Esra Tat leads on the strategic development of ZWE network and organisation. She coordinates the development of European campaigns in partnership with ZWE members and partners across the continent, and acts as the European Regional Coordinator towards GAIA International to further promote zero waste models worldwide. Previously, Esra was ZWE’s Network and Development Coordinator, in charge of the Zero Waste Cities Programme dedicated to help cities and communities design and implement ZW plans at the local level.
Before joining in April 2017, with a background in Economics and Project Management, Esra co-directed a social enterprise developing energy efficiency co-housing programmes in France. She worked as a sustainability programme manager and a facilitator, mostly with international networks. Esra has extensive experience in organisational and network development in the field of resources, climate and environment. Esra holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Management.
