Chrise is an independent Zero Waste specialist, educator, and advocate. As the Zero Waste Commission’s Chair, she designed and facilitated the public outreach and input-gathering efforts for the City of Berkeley’s 2019 landmark Single-Use Disposable Food Ware & Litter Reduction Ordinance. This process resulted in proposing to Council key revision recommendations, instrumental in securing a unanimous vote for passage.
Her experience includes: co-instructor for Zero Waste USA certification program, project manager of marketing, education, & outreach efforts for California’s CARE carpet stewardship program, program manager of Dominican University’s Sustainable Business Practices certificate program, executive director of EcoMom Alliance, aide to former County of Marin District 1 Supervisor (focus on a county-wide bag ban, siting a local food waste-to-biogas facility).
She is a creative professional with over 25 years in design and manufacturing of consumer products. Chrise sits on the board of For Here Please/Mudlab, a non-profit ZW reuse organization/enterprise in Oakland, is a ZWUSA-certified Zero Waste Community Associate, and also holds certificates in Sustainable Resources Management (San Jose State, CA) and Sustainable Business Practices (Dominican University, CA). She earned a BA from UC Berkeley.
