Annette Poliwka is a Zero Waste Consultant and Board Member of The League To Save Lake Tahoe, with the infamous bumper stickers to “Keep Tahoe Blue.” She spent years as a Zero Waste Commissioner in Berkeley, appointed by the Mayor, where they passed historic legislation on single use disposables. Her work at the City of San Francisco focused on waste reduction for the commercial sector and legislation research (plastic bag and styrofoam bans). While in New York City at the USEPA, she launched the Trash Free Waters Program, and conducted research in the Atlantic Ocean with 5 Gyres, collecting samples of plastic pollution from Bermuda to New York. Annette is a nature-based life coach, supporting ambitious, informed go-getters to define and achieve their goals, whether they are up-leveling their lives or developing projects that preserve the environment. Annette holds an M.S. Environmental Management from USF, and certificates in International Business at Georgetown, and Sustainable Fashion at FIT in NYC.
