Adi Varshneya is the US/Canada Membership Coordinator at GAIA (Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives). She graduated from New York University, where she received the Metropolitan Studies Program Prize and high honors for her thesis titled “Climate Justice in New York City: community resilience after Hurricane Sandy.” A former Community Organizer & Outreach Coordinator at WE ACT for Environmental Justice, she is working on her Master of Urban Planning at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. At GAIA, she co-authored the Zero Waste Master Plan, a Guide to Building Just and Resilient Zero Waste Cities. This toolkit is for policymakers, sustainability professionals, environmental advocates, and grassroots organizers leading their cities into a green and just future through Zero Waste.
