Barbara Martinez-Guerrero

Barbara Martinez-Guerrero is the Executive Director of Dream in Green, a nonprofit that empowers individuals to address environmental challenges and climate change. Over the past eight years, she has expanded the organization’s programs across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. She holds a Batchelor’s degree from Florida International University and is a returned Peace Corps volunteer. She also taught for a decade in Miami and New York City public schools before earning her Master’s from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Her leadership has earned multiple recognitions, including the 2019 Green Schools Advocate Award from the U.S. Green Building Council South Florida chapter. She has also been a speaker for The Climate Reality Project. Under her direction, DIG was a finalist for a national Green Schools award from the Green Schools National Network and received the 2021 Recycling Champions Award from the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation.
