Keynote 2 • Full Circular: Pushing the Limits of the Circular Economy in NYC

October 22, 2025 from 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm

Speaker: Speaker: Deconstruction Dave Bennink

New York City has created a circular construction program, and they are already applying it to begin eliminating waste from their massive waste stream. They hope to create 400,000 green-collar jobs with initiatives like this and more. We are supporting this effort with our NYC Circular Construction Network. The Network consists of people, projects, and practitioners all working together to eliminate waste now and in the future. This session will zoom in to discuss individual Network businesses that repair, recycle, reuse, remanufacture, and reinstall. It will also zoom out to explain how the Network works, and how it can be added to most any community. Our Reuse Innovation Center business model, which is at the core of the Network, will also be discussed including how each one uses industrial symbiosis and other advanced strategies to reduce waste from coast to coast.
