Stacy Savage

Stacy Savage was born and raised under the hazy skies and rotten egg smells of the oil & gas industry in southeast Texas. Both parents worked at local oil refineries for a collective 75 years, which propelled her into a career in environmental advocacy and becoming an eco-preneur.

Starting in 2003 as a nonprofit door-to-door community organizer, she helped pass two key pieces of statewide e-waste takeback legislation and 4 recycling ordinances in Austin, including its Construction & Demolition recycling policy.

In 2013, Stacy founded Zero Waste Strategies to help businesses & local governments, such as Dell, Apple, AT&T, Nestle Purina, and the City of Austin, implement waste reduction best practices. Through waste audits, employee training, green marketing solutions, her consulting firm helps clients attain their larger sustainability goals.

Stacy is a co-founder and the former Chair of the Austin Zero Waste Alliance, served as a Council appointee on the City of Austin Zero Waste Advisory Commission, is certified as a TRUE Advisor, and was recently elected to serve on the board of the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling.

She lives just east of Austin with her husband and company Vice President, Jon Savage, and their orange tabby cat rescue named “Tex”.
