Kira Stoll is the Chief Sustainability & Carbon Solutions Officer for the University of California, Berkeley. Her work involves strategic advising with leadership to institutionalize sustainable practices into campus administration and operations; developing cutting-edge carbon reduction, renewable energy, waste and water use reduction, and green building initiatives; and, developing long- and short-range sustainability plans and integrating those with campus physical planning efforts. She coordinates with the academic community to integrate sustainability into the curriculum and promotes efforts to foster the culture of sustainability at Berkeley.
In earlier work as the transportation planner at two UC campuses, she implemented joint agency projects bringing lasting increases in the number of sustainable commuters and improving community relations and land use decisions. She is an avid photographer contributing to local magazines and has produced nationally distributed educational videos. Kira has a B.A. in Humanities-UC Santa Cruz, a Masters of Social Sciences – Linkoping University, and is a certified Urban Planner.
