James Rhodes (Jamie) is an attorney, organizer, and strategic consultant. Currently serving as a Policy Consultant for Upstream, he was formerly the Program Director from 2015 – 2018. In between roles with Upstream, he launched his own law practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Rhodes Consulting, that focused on environmental policy, working for the RI Senate’s Committee on the Environment and Agriculture, municipal renewable energy procurement, and social enterprise business development. Prior to Upstream, he worked as the Rhode Island director for Clean Water Action and RI Advocacy Director for Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. He currently serves on the board for Clean Water Fund, American Civil Liberties Union – Rhode Island and Common Cause of Rhode Island. Otherwise, you can still find him on the ultimate frisbee field and soccer pitch, as long as the knees hold out, or hanging with family in North Smithfield, Rhode Island.
